Dermal filler (Monophasic)
Monophasic Dermal Filler refers to a type of single-phase dermal filler. It is mostly formulated as a uniform, particle-free gel made from cross-linked hyaluronic acid (also known as a homogeneous filler). Characterized by a smooth texture, strong cohesion, and excellent tissue compatibility, it focuses on natural contouring and long-lasting support.
Core Highlights
Composition & Structure
Primarily composed of cross-linked hyaluronic acid, it has a uniform, jelly-like texture without any particles, avoiding clumping or migration after injection.
Key Advantages
- Stable Contouring: Offers superior support and resilience, ideal for facial contouring and deep tissue filling.
- Seamless Tissue Integration: Blends perfectly with the surrounding tissues for a natural feel, ensuring harmonious dynamic facial expressions.
- Uniform Metabolism: Degrades evenly in the body, delivering stable and long-lasting results (usually 6–18 months).
Indications
Suitable for nose augmentation, chin enhancement, nasolabial fold filling, cheek lifting, lip shaping, etc. It is particularly well-suited for dynamic facial areas.
Application & Safety
Mostly injected into the mid-to-deep dermis or subcutaneous layer; many versions contain lidocaine to alleviate injection pain. Unsatisfactory results can be reversed with hyaluronidase.
Key Differences from Biphasic Fillers
- Monophasic Fillers: Particle-free homogeneous gel with strong support and no migration, ideal for contouring and deep filling.
- Biphasic Fillers: HA particles suspended in a gel carrier, featuring low injection resistance, suitable for superficial filling and fine line correction.
